Between 1673 and 1713 colonists tried to establish a settlement in Squakheag, now called Northfield, three times. It was abandoned and destroyed by French and Indian troops twice. Finally in 1713 the settlement became permanent and was incorporated as the town of Northfield in 1723. The attacks continued, however, until the conclusion of the French and Indian Wars in 1763. Northfield is the only Massachusetts town to border both Vermont and New Hampshire. Dwight L. Moody founded the Northfield Seminary for Young Ladies in 1879, and the Mount Hermon School for Boys in 1881. These two schools merged in 1971 to become the coed Northfield Mount Hermon.

i didn't know that this blog existed. Maybe I should rename ours again. Should it be a tardis blog?
